A movie poster, magazine and website must be able to have all key conventions, I have looked up the key conventions so when it comes to me designing my poster, magazine and website I will know what to include.
For example there must be a particular colour scheme used which also matches well with the image, the genre should be seen or hints given through the image, font style etc. For example a romance film, the poster would use a soft colour. To show audience the mood of the poster is calm and happy mood.
Release dates are an important key to add in a poster as it informs audience of when the film would be coming out. The marketing company gives audience a chance to look further into it. The key conventions also lead audience to have questions, visit the website, teaser trailer, imdb.com etc.
Conventions of a film poster:
Film Title
Release Date
Main characters name
Image
Production companies
Pull out quotes/reviews/ratings
I have looked at four movie posters;
Unknown
The adjustment bearau
Fair game
The insatiable moon
