Abida's Poster

Before creating my movie poster, I had decided to do pre planning sketch. The reason of creating a sketch design of the movie poster was because it gave me an understanding of how I would want my movie poster to be structured and what to include. For example making sure I included each key convention.

This is my finished movie poster cover for The Ring Of Betrayal created by using Adobe Fireworks CS4 and Adobe Photoshop CS4. I have used two images and blended the small image on the right within the sea background this image adds a meaning to the background image as the character looking stressed holding a baby and the background image is the couple on the beach that represent the genre of romance. I manipulated the image by using the brightness and contrast tool and saturation of the image to make it stand out more. For the title I have used the same colour and font style that is used throughout all ancillary tasks and teaser. I also made sure I included all the typical conventions of a poster. For example the bottom of the poster I have included the names of the producers, cast and crew, director, editing and production company name. And the main characters names were on positioned on each side of the poster.

Audience feedback:
I got five students to add a comment that are either advantages/disadvantages. These are the following comments:
1) Both images support each other as it shows the distance in the couple’s relationship
2) The film title and the bottom text is clearly promoted
3) Could add another image of the male character on the left side
4) Could have used a different background image
5) All convention has been met and the frame of both images is good.

Audience feedback:
Positive comment: Both images are really interesting as it represents the genre of the film and all conventions have been met.
Negative comment: Would need to think about the house style, Use a font that has been used throughout your ancillary task and teaser.
